I first met Isaac nine years ago. At first, we were just regular friends. We lived our seperate lives back then too. We did our own things every day, hang out with different people, and barely had too much deep connection between us. We thought we would only stay as casual friends forever, never imagining fate would pull us close and tie our lives together one day.
Three years passed after we started dating. On March 18, 2017, Isaac pop the big question to me, he proposed to me officially. Before that, we planned a trip to Atlanta to attend his older brother’s wedding. He told me he wanna bring me along so I can meet all his family members properly. His whole family all agreed this trip would be the perfect chance, and they all hoped this trip could turn into an unforgettable memory for me. They secretly made lots of small plans without telling me anything ahead of time. I didn’t notice any strange hints or weird behaviors from anyone in his family at all in those days.
One afternoon during our stay in Atlanta, Isaac said he wanna take me to Piedmont Park for a walk. I thought it’s just a simple casual hike to enjoy the fresh air and nice park views. I put on my light jacket and followed him without thinking twice. We walked along the lake path, chat about small daily stuff as usual, nothing felt out of ordinary. I really believed we only came here for a short relaxing outdoor trip.
When we almost finish our walk and were ready to head back to the car, Isaac suddenly stop walking and turned to face me. He told me there is a important reason why he brought me to this park today, and asked me to turn my head and look behind me. I slowly turned around, and my eyes widen right away. All our close friends and his family members were standing not far away from us. They held big handmade signs up high. The words on the signs read “Nelssy, will you marry me?”.
Right after I saw those words, Isaac drop down on one knee in front of me. My mind went blank for a few seconds. This moment is one of the biggest surprise I ever get in my whole life. I still remember how my hands shake and tears roll down my cheeks immediately. That special proposal moment stay in my heart forever, I love every single second of it more than I can say. Every time I look back on that day, I still feel all the warm and happy feelings rush back to me all over again.
